This holiday season, Shakespeare & Company presents a lively, costumed reading of The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley. Written by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon and directed by Ariel Bock, the play features the many familiar characters of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice as well as some new faces.

A companion to Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley – the first Jane Austen-inspired production staged at Shakespeare & Company in 2017 – The Wickhams takes place in the servants’ quarters of Pemberley, the estate of Elizabeth and Darcy, where a no-nonsense housekeeper, a spirited new maid, and a love-sick, enterprising footman are deeply engaged in holiday preparations.

Whether upstairs or downstairs, the residents are able to explore the confines of class and discover the warmth of family and the generosity of forgiveness in this charming spin-off of the classic 19th century Jane Austen novel.

The Wickhams will feature David Bertoldi, Luke Haskell, Sara Linares, Madeleine Rose Maggio, Kristen Moriarty, Devante Owens, and Naire Lynn Poole.

Generously sponsored by Michael J. Considine & Shawn P. Leary, Attorneys at Law, and Leone T. Young.
