Pittsfield, MA–Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG) and Kate Maguire (Artistic Director, CEO) are proud to announce that David Adkins has joined the staff of BTG as Artistic Director of Training and Education; Justin Brady has joined the staff of BTG as Director of Development; Corey Cavenaugh has been promoted to Managing Director; and, Vladimir Zeleny has moved from Assistant Ticketing Manager to Ticketing Manager. BTG is thrilled to welcome them to their new roles and looks forward to working with them to build a brighter future for theatre in the Berkshires and beyond.
David Adkins, Artistic Director of Training and Education
David Adkins is an accomplished actor, director and teacher with over thirty years of experience in the industry. He began as an apprentice with BTG (then known as Berkshire Theatre Festival) in 1985 and has worked with some of the most prestigious theatre companies in the United States. Adkins has been in numerous BTG productions, including last season’s Dracula and Edward Albee’s Seascape and he will be featured in the upcoming 2023 season in Photograph 51.As the Artistic Director of Training and Education, Adkins will work closely with the company’s artistic and administrative staff to develop and implement new programs and initiatives that promote the growth and development of theatre artists at all levels.David Adkins brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role at Berkshire Theatre Group. His expertise in actor training and education will be invaluable as BTG continues to expand its offerings and reach new audiences.
Justin Brady, Director of Development
Justin Brady brings with him a wealth of experience in fundraising and development, having previously served as the CEO for IndyFringe in Indianapolis, Indiana. With his proven track record of success, Brady is poised to take BTG’s development efforts to new heights.As the Director of Development, Brady will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s fundraising and development initiatives, including major gifts, planned giving, grant writing and special events. He will work closely with BTG’s leadership team to develop and implement strategies that will ensure the organization’s continued growth and success calling upon his passion for the arts and his deep understanding of the importance of philanthropy in sustaining cultural institutions.Berkshire Theatre Group is excited to welcome Justin Brady to the team and looks forward to the impact he will have on the organization’s development efforts.
Corey Cavenaugh, Managing Director
Corey Cavenaugh began his tenure with BTG in 2012 as a Company Management Intern. After his internship was complete, he stayed on with the organization focusing on stage management, company management and as a teaching artist until the end of 2014, at which point he moved into the position of Assistant Director of Productions from 2015 through 2018. In fall of 2018, he took on the role of General Manager. Throughout his tenure at BTG he stage managed productions as a member of Actor’s Equity Association. In fall 2022, he became the Managing Director. In this new role as Managing Director, Cavenaugh oversees the organization’s day-to-day operations, working closely with BTG’s Artistic Director and CEO and Board of Trustees to advance the company’s mission of producing high-quality theatre that engages, educates and entertains audiences. Cavenaugh brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the arts to this position, having worked with BTG for over ten years in various capacities. We are excited to see how Cavenaugh’s leadership will help shape the future of Berkshire Theatre Group and continue its legacy of excellence in the performing arts.
Vladimir Zeleny, Ticketing Manager
Vladimir Zeleny is from Pittsfield, MA and dedicated to the Berkshire arts community that he has been involved with his whole life. Zeleny brings years of arts management experience working with regional arts nonprofits, national touring shows, live music, theatre, arts education programs and events. As well as being the Ticketing Manager for BTG, Zeleny is Board President of Berkshire Lyric, a choral music nonprofit organization celebrating their 60th anniversary in 2023. His favorite musical is The Rocky Horror Show for which he has been guitarist three times and music director twice in amateur full productions. In his new role, Zeleny will be responsible for overseeing ticket sales, managing customer service inquiries and coordinating with the rest of the BTG team to ensure smooth operations. We are thrilled that he is a part of the BTG family and look forward to the contributions he will make to our organization.

About Berkshire Theatre Group
The Colonial Theatre, founded in 1903, and Berkshire Theatre Festival, founded in 1928, are two of the oldest cultural organizations in the Berkshires. In 2010, under the leadership of Artistic Director and CEO Kate Maguire, the two organizations merged to form Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG).
