Capital Repertory Theatre Seeks Director/Teaching Artist for Summer Stage Young Acting Company

Capital Repertory Theatre(theREP) seeks Director/Teaching Artist for the Collaborative School of the Arts at theREP’s Summer Stage Young Acting Company. We are seeking a candidate looking to hone their skills, that loves developing new work, and is passionate about working with youth and diverse populations. 

IDEAL CANDIDATE IS: 

FULL CONTRACT DATES: July 10, 2023 – August 4, 2023 

SUMMER STAGE 2023 

Program Dates: (full time) July 10-28 | Monday-Friday
Staff Hours: 9am-5pm 

Performances: Friday, July 28 at 4pm; Saturday, July 29 at 11am and Sunday, July 30 at 6pm. 

Location: theREP’s Studio Theatre | 251 North Pearl Street (second floor studio) 

Compensation: $1800.00 

INTRODUCTION TO THEATRE HALF-DAY CAMP 

Program Dates: (part time) July 31 – August 4 | Monday-Friday 

Staff Hours: TBD (likely to be 9am-12noon) 

Compensation: $300.00 

PLEASE NOTE: full compensation for all four weeks of work as director/teaching artist, totals $2100.00. 

SUMMER STAGE 2023 

Summer Stage is a three-week camp for young actors (aged 13-19) at theREP. The company, working alongside a professional production team, will rehearse and perform the six winning (10-minute) plays from theREP’s 2023 Young Playwright Contest. Rehearsals and performances all take place in The Lauren and Harold Iselin Performing Arts Studio at theREP, 251 North Pearl Street, Albany, NY. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Director/Teaching Artist will work with theREP’s Associate Producing Artistic Director and design team, hired by the Associate Artistic Director (AAD), in the full production of the Summer Stage Program. Including (but not limited to the following):
