October Events at The Foundry

This October is jam-packed with music, dance, and much more at The Foundry.

On Friday October 6th, Fiona Scruggs brings her company Qualia Dance Collective to The Foundry to premiere a new work. Qualia Dance Collective performs in local venues and festivals to stay connected to Berkshire neighbors and form stronger bonds with nearby communities. Dialogues with the audience following the performances are integral to engaging with the community and bridging access into the artistic process. Tickets are $18 in advance / $20 at the door for this 7:30PM show.

On Saturday October 7th, the 65th Street Ensemble will be coming from NYC for a night of chamber music. This highly talented group of Juilliard School musicians challenge the so-called “concert hall etiquette” as they collaborate to inspire a new perspective around unconventional chamber music. Tickets are $20 in advance / $25 at the door for this 7:30PM show.

On Thursday October 12th, Fun Night returns from earlier this summer! Liz Butler and Ben Jardine have been teaching improv at The Foundry every Monday night since June. And this is the culmination of that teaching, all rolled into one Fun Night. Join us as we celebrate these spectacular students and applaud them for all that they’ve learned and achieved thus far in their improv journeys. Tickets are $18 in advance/$20 at the door for this 7PM show.

On Friday October 13th, Gypsy Layne returns to The Foundry for a Halloween-tinged production that will unleash your darkest desires, offering heart-pounding pleasures served with a wicked dose of life-affirming body positivity that even the undead will find irresistible. Tickets are $25 for a 7:30PM show.

Funk sextet What? returns to The Foundry on October 14th at 7:30PM. Drawing influence from the serene landscape of the Catskills that inspired the likes of The Band and Donald Fagen, What? bridges the gap between R&B groove and improvisational jam. Tickets are $15 in advance / $20 at the door.

On October 15th we have the Ayumi Ishito/Daniel Carter/Demian Richards Trio playing jazz, with special guest Fred Moten reading poetry to kick off the night. This event is a Pinsapo Press fundraiser for “Words in Process”, a forthcoming book by Daniel Carter, and sponsored by the Berkshire Music Project. The show starts at 7PM and is $25.

And on October 21st Eryca Nolan returns to The Foundry to host Pour Choices–a night of comedy that’s all about mixing laughter and not so good decisions. Eryca is inviting some of her Funniest Friends to share their Pour Choice Stories that have turned into punchlines. Tickets are $18 in advance/$20 at the door for a 7:30PM show.
