Troy Foundry Theatre Presents the 2024 Half-Baked Festival of Emerging Work

Troy, NY –  “Half-Baked” can come with many connotations… Of course, like with everything they do, Troy Foundry Theatre exceeded definition and created something that has not only given emerging artists an opportunity to have their work heard in its earliest, and at times unfinished, state, but has changed my life as well.”

– Playwright Cris Eli Blak on his experience with the 2023 Half-Baked Festival of Emerging Work. Blak is the winner of the first Black Broadway Men Playwriting Initiative and winner of the 2024 Charles M. Getchell New Play Award.

Year two of Troy Foundry Theatre’s Half-Baked Festival of Emerging Work is here! From September 11-14 and September 18-21 you can view fifteen pieces of original theatre in varying stages of development in multiple venues across the city of Troy, NY. The festival will feature work from Troy Foundry Theatre company members, as well as Cris Eli Blak, Wesley Cappiello, Kristoph DiMaria, Brenna Geffers, Aaron Moore, Brian Sheldon, Eliana Rowe, and many more!.

This year, the festival will also feature two special events! On Wednesday, September 11th the festival will launch with a special fundraiser performance of Antonio, Or What I Would, created by Shayne David Cameris & Brenna Geffers and performed by Cameris, which premiered at the TFT Play On Lab earlier this year, and is a wild romp through history, fantasy, swashbuckling, and booty – a love letter to Shakespeare’s most famous Gay Pirate. All funds for this special event will go to support our friends at Will Kempe’s Players.

On Wednesday, September 18th we present the second Half-Baked special event, GintryA Play With Drinks created by and starring Davey White and developed with Die-Cast. This one-night only event will have two performances at 518 Craft in Troy. Each new chapter of Gintry features a unique craft cocktail that lets you taste the story as you hear it. Each $100 Bar Seat ticket comes with at least four cocktails crafted right in front of you. $25 Room Seating tickets are also available but do not include cocktails.
