ABOUT THE SHOW
A sweeping and inspirational journey through 20th century American pop music, Dreamgirls chronicles one Motown group’s rise from obscurity to superstardom. Through gospel, R&B, smooth pop, disco and more, Dreamgirls explores themes of ambition, hope and betrayal, all set in the glamorous and competitive world of the entertainment industry.
AUDITION DATES
- Friday, May 23, 2025; sign in begins at 6:30 pm with auditions starting at 7 pm.
- Saturday, May 24, 2025; sign in begins at 12 pm with auditions starting at 12:30 pm
- You only need to attend one of these sessions.
- Callbacks, by invitation only, will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at 12:30 pm
AUDITION LOCATION
- SLOC Musical Theater, Education Building

- Auditions are NOT in the main theater building. If you’re not familiar with our campus, be sure to use the address above in your GPS and don’t just enter “SLOC”
- Free parking is available in the city-owned lot across the street.
- Please enter through the door on the left facing Liberty Street
WHAT TO EXPECT AT AUDITIONS
Please prepare 16 to 32 bars of music from a Broadway show – ideally in a style similar to the show. Singing from the show is welcome, but not required.
An accompanist will be provided. Please have sheet music in the correct key.
Dance call. Bring or wear clothes and shoes you can move in.
You may complete the attached audition form OR complete the form when you arrive at auditions.
REHEARSAL DATES
- Rehearsals will be held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings, 6:30 pm-9:30 pm, and on Sunday afternoons 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. Please note rehearsal times are subject to change based on cast/crew availability.
- Full cast read-through will take place Monday, July 7, 2025
- Rehearsals will begin in mid-July (exact date to be announced)
REHEARSAL ATTENDANCE
- The following rehearsal dates are mandatory for all cast and crew:
