Homemade Theater Seeks Set Builder for 1776
Saratoga Springs, NY
Production Dates: July 18–27, 2025
Homemade Theater is currently seeking a Set Builder to join the production team for our summer musical, 1776, to be presented at the Saratoga Music Hall. We are looking for a reliable and collaborative individual with experience in scenic construction who can help bring our simple, historically-inspired concept to life.
We have volunteers available to assist with painting and building – we just need someone who can take the lead on construction, interpret the design (or help bring it to life if no formal designer is assigned), and help manage the build timeline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct the set according to the design/concept
- Manage and oversee volunteer builders
- Collaborate with the director and production team
- Ensure all elements are safe, functional, and completed on time
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience in scenic construction or carpentry
- Ability to read or interpret set designs
- A collaborative and communicative work style
- Availability for build days in June and early July
This is a volunteer position with a stipend or honorarium possible depending on availability and experience.
