Berkshire Playwrights Lab Presents an Evening of Original Works and Motivational Speeches at Symphony Space

New York, N.Y.— On Sunday, December 7th at 5:30 p.m., Berkshire Playwrights Lab presents “Resistance Theater: Acting to Renounce Autocracy, Reclaim History, Rescue Democracy…Together” an evening of original works and motivational speeches in defense of democracy, at Symphony Space

The evening features three original short plays, poetry, and music alongside motivational speeches designed to mobilize and inspire people to act against the rise of authoritarianism in support of democracy, bringing together an acclaimed ensemble of performers from stage, film, and television.

Featured speakers include Mary Harris, broadcast producer, reporter, and host and managing editor of Slate’s daily news podcast What Next; Rachel Strom, top media attorney representing the free speech rights of companies and media organizations; and Norman Siegel, noted civil rights attorney and former executive director of the New York Civil Liberties Union.
