2 Saturdays of comedy, music, shop local art and more! Saturday, Dec. 13, 5 p.m.
LAVA Art Party featuring the Silent No More Auction: Saturday, Dec. 20, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
The LAVA Center is thrilled to announce two holiday benefits to cap the 2025 season.
On Saturday, Dec. 13, 5 p.m., Andrea CK’s Comedy Project will present “yOu aRe hERe!,” a comedy variety show. “Enough with the bad news,” says the rabbi-turned-standup-comic and comedy producer. “We need holiday cheer and laughter now more than ever.” The lineup of comics, storytellers, songsters and friends will include some regulars featured at the Comedy Project’s events and some first time and guest performers, who aren’t afraid to take their comic material from wherever they find it. Tickets are available online at https://bit.ly/lavacomedy. No one is ever turned away for inability to pay; patrons who can afford it are asked to consider a generous donation to help The LAVA Center start 2026 on a firm foundation. For more information, contact Andrea CK at andrea@thelavacenter.org.
On Saturday, Dec. 20, 11 a.m.–2 p.m., the Silent Auction that launched our fall appeal in September culminates in the LAVA Art Party featuring the Silent No More Auction. The live auction is co-sponsored by Art Deviation Gallery and centered around Andy Rothschild’s whimsical Assembled Found Objects, with additional donations by over a dozen other artist friends of The LAVA Center. Over 100 works of art have been donated to the auction over the past three months; three dozen will be offered in this final round of bidding.
The auction begins with an hour of refreshments and previewing/pre-bidding to the music of The Farley String Band. At noon, Ash Goverman, LAVA Co-Coordinator making her debut as an auctioneer, will preside over the live auction. Door prizes offered by Main Street businesses and merchants will be awarded to those in attendance, with no requirement to bid to be eligible for a door prize. Surprise awards will be bestowed on the highest bidders of the entire auction.
All proceeds go to help LAVA reach its fall fund-raising goal of $10,000, and will go three times as far thanks to two donors who’ve pledged to match every bid.
The Art Party and Silent No More auction is the culminating event of LAVA’s fall campaign as the organization looks forward to its sixth year of operation providing art, film, playreading, writing, spoken word, storytelling, stand up comedy, and community conversations for little to no cost to the public. Shop local, promote the arts and artists, join the celebration of The LAVA Center as we ring out 2025 and look forward to our seventh year at the cultural crossroads of Greenfield and Franklin County!
