Theater Voices Announces Auditions for Staged Reading of “MASTER HAROLD and the boys”

Theater Voices will hold auditions for a staged reading of “MASTER HAROLD…and the boys” by Athol Fugard, directed by Jean-Remy Monnay. Auditions Friday and Saturday, Feb. 20 & 21st beginning at 6:30pm at Steamer No. 10 Theatre. Three amazing roles.

Rehearsals during the month of March, with four performances, March 27, 28 & 29, 2026.

In Port Elizabeth, South Africa, a white teen who has grown up in the affectionate company of two Black waiters who work in his mother’s tearoom learns that his alcoholic father is on his way home from the hospital. This unwelcome news and the rage that follows unwittingly triggers his inevitable passage into the culture of hatred fostered by apartheid.

Seeking:
Sam, a waiter, Black, 30-50
Willie, a waiter, Black, ages 30-50
Hally, a teen, white

Auditioners will be reading from the script. If they wish, auditioners may present a prepared monologue (optional).
