About the Show
Based on the beloved Disney animated feature and Victor Hugo’s epic novel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame features an Academy Award-nominated score by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, with a new book by Peter Parnell. Set in fifteenth-century Paris, the story follows Quasimodo — a gentle bell-ringer kept hidden from the world by the manipulative archdeacon Frollo — as he ventures out and finds himself swept into a dramatic struggle involving the spirited Romani woman Esmeralda and the ruthless forces conspiring against her people. With sweeping choral music, gothic grandeur, and a story rooted in Hugo’s own words, this is a musical that asks the profound question “what makes a monster and what makes a man?”. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a breathtaking theatrical experience not to be missed.
