SCHENECTADY (July 31) — Universal Preservation Hall has announced that tickets are now on sale for four unique events coming to the Great Hall this fall: “Amy Bruni: Walking with Ghosts,” “Uptown: A Celebration of Motown and Soul,” The Saratoga Book Festival and Northshire Bookstore present “An Evening with Eric Idle,” and “The Reset: An Immersive Sound Healing Experience.” Together, these performances offer audiences an eclectic lineup of unforgettable live entertainment, from heartfelt personal stories and legendary comedy to timeless music and thought-provoking conversation.
“Amy Bruni: Walking with Ghosts” brings renowned paranormal researcher, TV host, and author, Amy Bruni, to the Great Hall 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. She guides audiences into chilling real-life hauntings that inspired the world’s most terrifying horror films past the jump scares and special effects into the very real history, people, and paranormal encounters at the heart of these famous movies. Bruni also travels with her mini museum of haunted artifacts and spiritualist memorabilia, which will be displayed to visit and interact with before and after the show.
Music lovers can relive the soundtrack of a generation with “Uptown: A Celebration of Motown and Soul,” 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. Featuring the unforgettable hits of Motown legends and soul icons, the high-energy production delivers powerhouse vocals, dynamic choreography, and the timeless songs that continue to inspire audiences across generations.
Legendary writer, comedian, actor, and founding member of Monty Python, Eric Idle will come to the Great Hall to discuss his new memoir “Idle in Provence,” 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1. “Idle in Provence” follows Idle’s purchase of a ramshackle property in the south of France, just two years after the launch of “Monty Python’s Flying Circus.” Both hilarious and tender, the book follows Idle on a tale spanning 50 years, seeking his own slice of the simple life. Each ticket includes an autographed copy of the memoir.
Rounding out the lineup is “The Reset: An Immersive Sound Healing Experience,” 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15. This electro-acoustic sonic immersion weaves together improvisational singing, live looping, sound healing instruments, and electronic beats to guide audiences deep into their inner landscape for a 90-minute experience.
