Audition Call for Actors in the Non-Equity Touring Show Production of Magic Tree House: The Knight at Dawn KIDS
Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 5pm at The Colonial Theatre
Berkshire Theatre Group seeks actors to audition for its upcoming non-Equity touring show production of the Magic Tree House: The Knight at Dawn KIDS for the 2026-2027 school year. Roles are open to actors of all ethnicities and genders enrolled in middle school, high school and local colleges, ages 13 and up. College-aged and post-college actors are encouraged to audition. Actors should come to auditions prepared to read excerpts from the play and learn a song and choreography from the show as provided by the artistic team.
Rehearsals will begin in mid-September and occur after school, evenings and one weekend day. All rehearsals will take place in Pittsfield, MA. Performance dates start in October and run through early June.
Each actor will perform during the school/workday every other Friday. Brush-up rehearsals will occur throughout the run, and attendance is required. All actors must be available to perform at The Colonial Theatre on Saturday, February 13, 2027, during the daytime. Additional rehearsals and a tech rehearsal will be required prior to this performance.
The play is based on the Magic Tree House Book #2: The Knight at Dawn written by Mary Pope Osborne, with book by Jenny Laird, music and lyrics by Randy Courts and additional lyrics by Will Osborne. The play is directed by Michael Wartella with musical direction by Erin White and choreography by Kathy Jo Grover.
All auditions will take place at The Colonial Theatre, 111 South Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. Appointments and pre-registration are necessary for the audition and must be made by Friday, August 28.
