Home Made Theater is kicking off the spooky season with a production of Clue by Sandy Rustin, the hit comedy-mystery based on the iconic 1985 Paramount film and the classic Hasbro board game. The fast-paced whodunit runs for two weekends, opening October 9 at the Anthony “Skip” Scirocco Music Hall inside Saratoga Springs City Hall.
Set on a dark and stormy night, Clue invites audiences into Boddy Manor, where six mysterious guests gather for an unusual dinner party. When their host turns up dead, everyone becomes a suspect—and a potential victim. Armed with weapons like the candlestick, lead pipe, and wrench, the guests race to find the killer before the body count rises higher. The result is a sharp, relentless farce packed with physical comedy, slapstick panic, and rapid-fire wit.
The production is helmed by Director Shane Sczepankowski, whose directing background spans classic Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams dramas, and interactive murder mysteries.
“Clue is the perfect production for the spooky season—or any season,” says Sczepankowski. “The cast is excitedly chugging along as they begin to discover the unmatched hilarity this play has to offer. Their timing, energy, and commitment to the bit is a sight to behold.”
