Sand Lake Center for the Arts Presents “Broadway Bound”

WEST SAND LAKE, N.Y. — Sand Lake Center for the Arts (SLCA) invites the Capital Region to attend Broadway Bound on Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 18 and 25 at 2:30 p.m.

Part three of Neil Simon’s acclaimed autobiographical trilogy finds Eugene and his older brother Stanley trying to break into the world of show business as professional comedy writers while coping with their parents’ breakup and eventual divorce. When their material is broadcast on the radio for the first time, the family is upset to hear a thinly veiled portrait of themselves played for laughs.

This production features much of the same cast as last year’s Brighton Beach Memoirs at SLCA.

Director Peter Quinones explains, “Broadway Bound is a beautiful reminder that some of the most meaningful stories begin at home. Neil Simon brings humor, heart and honesty to the relationships between family members, and I’m thrilled to share this story with our community. Our cast and crew have embraced these characters and their journey, and we hope audiences will laugh with us, recognize a little of their own lives in the story, and leave feeling connected to those around them.”

“Broadway Bound is a wonderful example of Neil Simon’s ability to turn the everyday moments of family life into something that is both genuinely funny and deeply moving,” said SLCA Executive Director Tanya Gorlow. “Our cast and crew have poured their hearts into the past two productions, and we invite our community to see their incredible work.”

Tickets are $25 for the general public; $10 for students. To purchase tickets and for more information, visit slca-ctp.org. Press passes are available; please email tanya@slca-ctp.org.
