The Wilbraham United Players are proud to present “Little Women – The Broadway Musical” starting on Friday, April 21st, and continuing through Sunday, April 30, 2023. This production will take place on the Fellowship Hall Stage at Wilbraham United Church at 500 Main Street in Wilbraham.
A Musical based on Louisa May Alcott’s classic American Novel, this Civil War era musical story of love and family is a New England classic. Little Women follows the adventures of four sisters; rambunctious Jo, practical Meg, sweet Beth, and romantic Amy March as they embark on a coming of age tale filled with drama, romance and humor (and song!) all under the eye of their beloved Marmee while their father is away during the Civil War. Jo is trying to sell her writings, but her publishers are not interested – at least not until she weaves in the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in 19th century Massachusetts. This timeless, captivating story is brought to life in this glorious musical filled with self-discovery, heartache, and hope. The relationship of the four March sisters and their family prove that even during a time of conflict there is still love.
Book by Allan Knee, music by Jason Howland, Lyrics by Mindi Dickstein; this production is directed by Deb Trimble with musical direction by Benjamin Maniscalchi.
