Schenectady Civic Players will kick off their 97th season in September with the dramatic comedy Well by Lisa Kron, directed by Matthew G. Moross.
Performance dates are Friday–Sunday (September 20-22) and Wednesday–Sunday (September 25-29). Friday and Saturday curtains are at 8 pm, Wednesday and Thursday curtains are at 7:30 pm, and Sundays are matinees only at 2:30 pm. All tickets are $25. Tickets are available online through the SCP website, by phone, or at the door, for any performance. Season Subscriptions are also available now for all 5 shows of the 2024-2025 season for only $80. “This play is not about my mother and me,” begins the character of Lisa. But of course, it is. It’s about mothers and daughters, mind over body, social activism, and theatre itself. Lisa, the onstage playwright, attempts a memory play about her force-of-nature mother, Ann, who though constantly ill, manages to heal a changing community.
