GREENFIELD, MA — The LAVA Center is proud to present our third annual festival of new play readings by (mostly) local playwrights, “On the Boards.” Get a glimpse into the process of making theater, in this festival of readings of new works in several stages of development.
The festival continues Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21, with “Happy Husband Hunting” and “Tennis Play.”
“Happy Husband Hunting” was written by Rex McGregor and is directed by Ed Fitzgerald and performed by Lindel Hart and Sandra Wang. A widow is ready to marry again. Armed with encouragement from her late husband, she sets her sights on a possible replacement.
“Tennis Play” was written by Jeremy Geragotelis and is directed by Ezekiel Baskin and performed by K Adler, Jamie Berger, Drew Chortkoff, Ash Goverman, Lindel Hart, Katie Hertel, Maya Quiñones and Sandra Wang.
The outrageous and touching happenings at the LGBTQIA+ Tennis League! A play about the mysteries of longing and the corners we are all backed into when we finally grow tired of pushing for the love we think we need.
Plays take place at The LAVA Center, 324 Main St., Greenfield. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and start at 7 p.m. Tickets are on a sliding scale of $8–35, with a $2 option for Card to Culture participants.
