Lake George, NY – Lake George Dinner Theatre proudly announces a “Season of Nostalgia” for its 59th year entertaining audiences. It begins with the smash off-Broadway musical hit, The Marvelous Wonderettes, written and created by Roger Bean, running July 10 through September 5, 2026. The season continues with two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winner, The 39 Steps, adapted by Patrick Barlow from the movie by Alfred Hitchcock and the novel by John Buchan, opening on September 18, 2026, and running through October 17, 2026.
The Marvelous Wonderettes is a crowd-pleasing blast from the past that will keep you smiling, singing and toe-tapping all the way to the end. The year is 1958 and it’s prom night for four best friends at Springfield High School (Go Chipmunks!). Act Two jumps ahead to their 10-year high school reunion where we find out how life has turned out for this effervescent foursome. A smash off-Broadway hit, The Marvelous Wonderettes is an uproarious cotton candy-colored jukebox musical trip down memory lane, featuring your favorite pop songs from the 50s and 60s.
A fast-paced comedy thriller, The 39 Steps is a dizzying, hysterical parody packed with non-stop thrills and side-splitting shenanigans. Don’t miss your chance to see Alfred Hitchcock’s classic thriller given the campy, whimsical treatment in this award-winning, riotous comedy. It’s all brought to life by an exuberant cast of four actors playing over 150 zany characters in this dizzying, hysterical parody packed with non-stop thrills and side-splitting shenanigans!
Artist Director, Jarel Davidow, shares: “I am thrilled to bring you these two hilarious shows that not only will make you laugh, but also evoke a great sense of nostalgia as they take you on a trip back in time. Given the success we’ve had with musicals for the past couple seasons, I knew that The Marvelous Wonderettes was the perfect musical to put on our stage this season. You won’t be able to resist singing along to the jubilant hits of the 50s & 60s. In addition, The 39 Steps has been on our list to bring to the stage for a while now. I knew this quick-witted take on the Alfred Hitchcock classic would pair perfectly with The Marvelous Wonderettes to create the ideal “Season of Nostalgia.” I am so excited to share the 2026 season with our audience and I look forward to seeing everyone at the theater.”
