Sheffield— On Sunday, March 29th at 2 p.m., Dewey Hall presents In the Deep Heart’s Core, a mystic cabaret and award-winning poetic musical.
“In the Deep Heart’s Core” is at once a poet’s autobiography and a deeply moving journey through the romantic imagination and the national soul of Ireland. It follows the life of the Celtic visionary poet and activist William Butler Yeats, moving through dreams and heartbreaks toward ultimate spiritual triumph for a stunning evening of musical theatre, poetry, song, and storytelling.
Called “one of the loveliest shows now on a Chicago stage” by the Chicago Sun-Times, “In the Deep Heart’s Core “ran for eight months at Chicago’s Bailiwick Repertory Theatre to unanimous critical acclaim, receiving a Joseph Jefferson Award for Outstanding Original Score. The show has been featured at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D. C., a four-week run at Virginia’s nationally-known Barter Theatre, a four-week run at Philadelphia’s Movement Theatre International, and a national tour.
