The acclaimed The Laramie Project by Moisés Kaufman revolves around the 1998 horrific death of openly gay University of Wyoming student, Matthew Shepard, who was brutally beaten and left to die, mainly, if not fully, due to his sexual orientation. The play is based on real-life interviews given in Laramie, Wyoming after the crime. There are over 60 characters with actors playing multiple roles.
