Honoring Legacy While Embracing the Future
Sharon Playhouse is proud to announce a comprehensive brand refresh that reflects the organization’s evolution as a leading cultural force in the region. Rooted in both heritage and forward momentum, the updated visual identity repositions the Playhouse for its next chapter by strengthening its connection with audiences, donors, and the broader community.
As Sharon Playhouse continues to grow, leadership recognized the importance of aligning its visual identity with its current impact and future ambitions. The refreshed brand aims to shift the narrative in the community, reinforcing the Playhouse’s role not only as a theater, but as a vibrant gathering place and artistic home.
“A brand must evolve and refresh their identities, because audiences change, communities change and expectations change, ” said Artistic Director Carl Andress. “A refreshed image gives us new energy, new relevance and new tools to tell our story. We’re not just a theater – we’re a gathering place, an artistic home, a destination, and a driver of local economic vitality. We are building a Sharon Playhouse ready for its next chapter.”
Developed in collaboration with designer Christina D’Angelo, the new identity captures the essence of the Sharon Playhouse — vintage yet current, nostalgic yet forward-looking. It honors the organization’s rich history while creating space for the new memories being made on and off the stage. A key visual element of the new brand highlights the iconic barn silhouette; a symbol deeply tied to the Playhouse’s history and identity.
“The barn gives a fixed image about how we all feel about the playhouse,” said Managing Director Meghan Flanagan. “The new branding presents the story of the great history of Sharon Playhouse – who we were, who we are today, who we are becoming – and the barn is that unifying element.”
The updated brand introduces a refreshed color palette, graphic elements, and a visual storytelling approach designed to create immediate recognition and emotional connection. The redesign also reinforces Sharon Playhouse’s credibility and ambition, signaling professionalism, stability, and a commitment to long-term growth. It aims to deepen trust among donors, partners, and audiences alike, positioning the Playhouse as an institution worthy of continued investment and support.
“In reimagining our brand, we embraced the rich history and community spirit that the Sharon Playhouse represents,” said Education and Community Director Michael Baldwin. “The designer was able to capture something that feels both visually nostalgic and forward looking. The new look symbolizes our commitment to creativity, collaboration and the transformative power of the arts.”
This brand refresh marks a pivotal moment for Sharon Playhouse, one that honors its past while boldly stepping into the future.
