Put down your book & put on your sleuthing hat! The Claverack Library, in collaboration with Two Of Us Productions, is about to unveil a murder mystery that spoofs karaoke contests and their “cut throat” competition on and off the stage with Karaoke Killer, a murder mystery in two acts. The show starts at 7:30pm on Saturday Sept. 9th, 2023 at the Claverack Library. Tickets are $5 at the door.

With Karaoke Killer, the Claverack Library has become the latest stop on the National Karaoke Hall of Fame tour. The celebrities of the karaoke universe are flocking to the Marilyn & Bob Laurie Gallery at the Claverack Library for a stellar evening of singing to the best of karaoke’s hits. (well, at least the stars and moon should be visible if the weather is good!!). Don’t miss this great evening of music and mayhem

Come on down to the infamous Pink Flamingo Nightclub, hosted by club owner and local impresario “Pinki” Zaloosa and her ever popular bartender Jack Daniels, for a great evening! A karaoke competition brings out the best and worst in people. The best can be something as simple as a gracious applause for the contest winner. The worst? Well, let’s just say that the contestants in this contest will do anything to win. A little nasty behavior — doing things to sabotage each other’s performance — subtle but evil things — WHY NOT! Undermine the success of others, deliberately plot someone’s downfall, pay off a judge or two, or even commit MURDER! Well, some folks will seek victory at any cost – they’ll do anything for a cheap prize and a few bucks & you get to see it all.

Before the evening’s over, someone else will be ruthlessly murdered, and it’s up to the audience to solve the crime. Prizes will be awarded to the first people who correctly guess the murder and motive.
The curtain rises on Saturday September 9th 2023 in the Marilyn and Bob Laurie Gallery at the Claverack Free Library in Claverack, NY. Tickets are $5 at the door. The concession table will be available at intermission courtesy of Chatham Provisions. The Claverack Library is located at the intersection of Routes 9H & 23B; enter the parking lot at 629 Route 23B.

What can you expect from an audience participation murder mystery? Fun the minute you walk in the door! Doors at the Marilyn and Bob Laurie Gallery open at 7pm, giving you a chance to mingle with the cast and ask questions while the performers drop hints about themselves & the show. The show starts at 7:30pm.
