Randolph W. Bromery Center for the Arts, Lobby

Join us for this culminating event of the UMass Fine Arts Center’s season-long residency with playwright Larissa Fasthorse and director Michael John Garcés.

The event will take the form of a celebration of Indigenous joy and resilience. We will uplift Native storytelling, connections to land and water, and a commitment to kinship. The program will include poetry, live music, storytelling, and food.

Hosted by Justin Beatty, the event will feature UMass alum Jasmine GoodSpeed performing a monologue from a play she has written with mentorship from Fasthorse; a performance by the drumming group Wicozani Singers; a poetry reading by Ron Welburn accompanied by guitarist Jon Hill; and remarks from Tiffany Joseph, Nayana LaFond, Michelle Youngblood, and Wilma Crespo.
