Valley Playwright Mentoring (VPM) is a Piti Theatre program for teenagers where participants develop podcasts based on stories from their lives.

On Sunday, October 24 at 6 pm, the teens will present their 2nd batch of “radio plays” via Zoom followed by Q&A. Scenes address topics like COVID-19, family conflict, aging, Taylor Swift, identity and graduating from high school. The recordings will be available at www.ptco.org/vpm after the event.

VPM is also accepting registrations from new participants for Year Three which starts in November. The program, which offers stipends to teens who complete the six month mentorship, is made possible through the generous support of the Community Foundation of Western MA, Mass Humanities, The Art Angels of Western MA, Mass Cultural Council, New England Foundation for the Arts, the Markham-Nathan Foundation and the Horace Moses Charitable Trust. VPM was inspired by Barrington Stage Company’s Playwright Mentoring Project.
