Ghent Playhouse is looking for a male actor, 20-30 years old, for the role of Raleigh in production of Arlene Hutton’s LAST TRAIN TO NIBROC, scheduled for late spring.

Set in 1940, it is a funny and touching portrait of the search for happiness. This simply staged romance tells the story of May and Raleigh, who meet on a cross-country train trip and soon discover they are from neighboring towns. Love blooms and complications abound, when Raleigh decides to follow his heart – and May – to Kentucky, rather than pursuing his plans of becoming a writer in New York.

The play calls for a strong actor who can portray Raleigh from early 20’s to 30 years old. Those younger, who feel they can look and play older, or older, who feel they can look and play younger, are encouraged to audition.

The production will be presented at The Ghent Playhouse, located at 6 Town Hall Road in Ghent, New York. Performance dates are May 20 through June 5, 2022, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 p.m., with a preview performance on Thursday, May 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Those interested, are requested to contact the director, Sky Vogel, directly at or by phone or text at (518) 421-9105. For further information about the production, please visit the Ghent Playhouse website at
