New Lebanon, NY—After three decades in various venues in Hudson, New York, HRC Showcase Theatre is announcing the resumption of its program of staged readings of original plays at a new location:  The Theater Barn in New Lebanon.

In early spring, 2020, HRC was in the midst of its 30th season when Covid-19 struck, aborting its activities until September, 2021, when the company produced Jerry Slaff’s “Lies” at The Theater Barn.  That venue will now serve as HRC’s home for four productions in 2022, the plays having been selected in HRC’s nationwide playwriting competitions.

Once again the plays will be directed by Artistic Director Barbara Waldinger, and performed by a combination of Equity and non-Equity seasoned actors gathered from local and regional areas.  The players will work script-in-hand with minimal costumes, sets, and props, but with movement and basic staging.  A talk-back featuring the playwright, director and cast members, at which audiences are encouraged to participate, will follow each production.

The 2022 season will consist of four Saturday-evening performances at 7:30 p.m. at the Theater Barn at 654 US-20 in New Lebanon, with a suggested donation of $20.  Tickets can be reserved online at tbarn.org, or call 518-794-8989.
