Fort Salem Theater has extended the deadline for video submissions for tick…tick…Boom through Sunday, June 26th. All roles are currently available and are open to actors of all ethnicities and gender identities. Please note: previous submissions are still being considered and are not required to be resent.
Performers are asked to prepare an upbeat musical theater or pop song; singing from the show is optional. For the role of Jon, please submit a separate video demonstrating your piano playing abilities. Email all materials to Kyle@FortSalem.com.
This is approximately a 5-week commitment only, with rehearsals starting on Monday, July 25. Rehearsals will typically be Sundays from 6PM-10PM, Monday-Thursday from 7PM-10PM and occasional Saturday mornings, pending the availability of the cast and the needs of the show. A full calendar will be provided by the first rehearsal. Each actor will receive a minimum of two complimentary tickets. In celebration of Fort Salem Theater’s 50th Anniversary Season, actors who participate in 2022 productions will also receive a free 12-month invitation to opening weekends for all MainStage productions.
About the show:
Before Rent, there was Tick, Tick… Boom!. This autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning composer of Rent, is the story of a composer and the sacrifices that he made to achieve his big break in theatre.

Characters:
JON: (Male presenting, stage age around 30, vocal range A2-A4). A Musical theater composer facing his age as his 30th birthday fast approaches. Piano playing is preferred.
MICHAEL: (Male presenting, stage age 25 – 35, vocal range Bb2-Gb4 ) Jon’s roommate and best friend who previously was an actor and is now a marketing executive. This actor will double other roles.
SUSAN: (Female presenting, stage age 20 – 30, vocal range A3-D5) – Jon’s girlfriend and a dancer in New York City. This actress will double other roles.
