“MISERY”

·       Monday – July 18, 2022 – 7:00 PM

·       Curtain Call Theatre – 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham, NY 12110 

Rehearsals:

Zoom rehearsals begin November 2022Zoom

Rehearsals will be Sunday – Tuesday evenings

In person rehearsals will begin December 2022

In person rehearsals will be during the day with specific days TBD

In person evening rehearsals will be added as necessary

Performances:

·       January 12 – 29, 2023

·       Thursday at 7:30 PM, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 PM, & Sunday at 3:00 PM 

·       One Saturday matinee at 3:00 PM on January 21, 2023.

Show Description:

Misery follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, and wakes up captive in her secluded home. While Paul is convalescing, Annie reads his latest book and becomes enraged when she discovers the author has killed off her favorite character, Misery Chastain. Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery novel, and he quickly realizes Annie has no intention of letting him go anywhere. The irate Annie has Paul writing as if his life depends on it, and it does.

Annie Wilkes / Female Identifying / Age 40’s

Intense, mercurial, riveting, charming, and frightening.

Buster / Male Identifying / Age 50’s

The local sheriff.
