The Rooted Voyageurs present Shakespeare’s TWELFTH NIGHT at Chatham Farmers and Makers Market, Friday, August 12th at 5 pm in Crellin Park, 2940 Rt. 66, Chatham, NY. And it’s free! And it’s their final show of the summer!
Twelfth Night is a romantic comedy by William Shakespeare. The play centers around twins (Viola and Sebastian) that are separated in a shipwreck. Mayhem ensues when Viola disguises herself as a man and becomes a servant to Duke Orsino, who is desperately wooing the Countess Olivia. It’s a story of unrequited love and mistaken identity, with some practical jokes along the way! This bare-bones production is abridged and will run 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The Rooted Voyageurs is a theater company, founded by Devante Owens (Artistic Director) and Zoe Wohlfeld (Managing Producer), whose mission is to celebrate community through live performance. Their company members are primarily from Columbia County, NY and Berkshire County, MA. All performances are donation based, you can pay as much as you want or nothing at all.
Bring your own seating, a picnic, or pick up some delicious food from the farmers market and enjoy!
