(August 22, 2022–Chatham, NY) The annual fan-favorite show tunes revue “Showstoppers,” featuring the 2022 Mac-Haydn acting company, returns to the Chatham theatre in a 4-performance limited engagement this September.
Previously known as the Mac-Haydn’s “End Of Season Cabaret,” “Showstoppers” was introduced as part of the 2021 Limited Performances season, playing multiple performances for the first time ever and was received with incredible enthusiasm by the loyal Mac-Haydn audience.
Producing Artistic Director John Saunders will lead the performance, curating an hour-long program. “Showstoppers is a chance to celebrate the extraordinarily talented company members of our 2022 season,” said Saunders. “With hit numbers from hit shows, Showstoppers promises to be a program packed with songs both old and new to delight audiences.”
“Showstoppers” will feature the 2022 Resident Company, as well as various surprise special guests, performing solo and group numbers from all corners of the musical theatre canon. Eric Shorey leads from the pit as the Music Director.
Saunders spoke further about the contribution this program makes to the Mac-Haydn’s season: “Every season, this show gives us the chance to do what the Mac-Haydn does best – and that’s to present both great classical and contemporary musical theatre. You won’t want to miss this chance to see this eclectic selection of songs featuring Mac-Haydn favorites and the new stars of the 2022 resident company.”
The Mac-Haydn Theatre’s Limited Performances Series runs August through October and features Meredith Lustig (“To Sondheim, With Love”), Gabe Belyeu (“A Call To Places”) and the Mac-Haydn 2022 Company (“Showstoppers”).
