The Pioneer Valley Performing Arts (PVPA) Charter Public School is pleased to present Metamorphoses, a play based on the Myths of Ovid, originally written and directed by Mary Zimmerman. The show will run from June 2-3, 2023 with performances beginning at 7PM in the main stage theater at 15 Mulligan Drive, South Hadley. Ticket prices are as follows: $10 general admission; $7 military and seniors; $5 PVPA alumni, and $3 students. This performance is part of PVPA’s spring production calendar, available at www.pvpa.org.
PVPA’s production of Metamorphoses, directed by PVPA Theater Teacher Cullen Burling and Assistant Director Zoey Puffer, PVPA ‘25, brings to life Greek myths that focus on love, loss, and human connection. Set in and around a pool of water, this collection of interwoven ancient tales showcases the best and worst of humanity, and how we navigate transformation and change. The set design, featuring a pool of water thrust out into the audience in PVPA’s main stage theater, was created by PVPA Stagecraft students under the direction of Technical Theater Department Head Martin Bridge.
PVPA is a regional public charter school serving 400 students grades 7-12, from over 50 towns throughout Western Massachusetts. We seek to connect the creative process with critical thinking to inspire a love of learning. For more information: www.pvpa.org
