Join multi-award winning actor and director Karen Allen for a fast moving, interactive afternoon as she shares highlights of her exciting career, from her film debut in Animal House, to her iconic role as Marion Ravenwood in Raiders of the Lost Ark, to major roles in Starman and The Perfect Storm, and her many other movie, television, and stage performances. Karen will tell us what it’s like to work with such luminaries as Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford, and Jeff Bridges. She will also share how being engaged in creative arts led to her opening Karen Allen Fiber Arts in Great Barrington. Karen will be interviewed by Barry R. Shapiro.

Come join comedian, award-winning audiobook narrator and bestselling novelist Alison Larkin for a joyful sneak preview of excerpts from her new solo show Grief… a Comedy on Saturday, August 26th, 4:30 PM, at the New Marlborough Meeting House. Alison will be accompanied by Emmy award winning composer Gary Schreiner.
Alison found true love for the first time in her 50’s with an Indian climate scientist who had also immigrated to the US. Then he died. Then something wildly unexpected happened. When Archbishop Desmond Tutu found out about it, he insisted she write this show. So, if you don’t like it, you can blame him.
An earlier version of Alison’s show, called Grief the Musical …a Comedy, sold out the Great Barrington Public Theatre in 2022. Grief…a Comedy will premiere in the UK at the Soho Theatre in London on November 6, 2023.
