A Message from Will Rucker, Executive Artistic Director of the Dorset Theatre Festival
It has been an incredible 46th Dorset Theatre Festival season. We’ve seen great stories magnificently told and welcomed record-breaking audiences to the Dorset Playhouse all summer long. Just this past weekend we opened our hilarious season finale, The Thanksgiving Play by Larissa FastHorse, directed by Raz Golden.
Unfortunately, due to multiple Covid-19 cases affecting members of the staff, cast, and crew, we have made the tough but necessary decision to cancel all remaining performances through the end of the season, September 10.
Current ticket holders will be contacted by the box office via email with options to convert ticket purchases into tax-deductible donations, patron credits for future seasons, or gift cards. Full refunds are also available. Whether you were planning to attend the show or not, now is a very impactful time to make a donation of any size to help us make up for these lost performances.
While we are extremely disappointed to end the season so suddenly, we are so thankful for your support of producing professional theatre right here in Dorset this summer and beyond.
