For the last several months, Amy Brentano and Sara Katzoff have had the incredible privilege of co-creating an original theater piece called RELEASE alongside a collective of formerly incarcerated women and theater artists working together through 2nd Street organization in Pittsfield.

RELEASE works towards humanizing the overwhelming statistics of racial and gender inequity present “behind the wall” (and beyond it) while shining a light on many nonlinear journeys of healing, recovery and resilience. The piece is woven together from words, dreams and stories shared through several months of interviews and listening sessions and will be performed by an ensemble of professional actors.

Release will have three FREE work in progress public performances at the Boland Theater at Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, each followed by a post show conversation with the creatives and 2nd Street community
