SHERMAN, CONN. (September 22, 2023) – The Sherman Players invites local directors to submit productions for consideration in the upcoming 2024 season at the Sherman Playhouse.
Artistic director Jessica Durdock Moreno states that “the submission window is now open (through Monday, October 9th) for show pitches from directors wishing to direct a play or musical at the Sherman Playhouse for the 2024 season. Theatermakers of all levels of experience are encouraged to apply. We are excited to learn of your ideas and to get to know you”!
A typical season features four mainstage productions spread throughout the year: Spring (April/May performances), Summer (June/July), Fall (September/October), and Winter (November/December). The Sherman Players are looking to build a balanced season with plays and musicals that appeal to our audiences, engage a broad range of local actors, and feature productions that compliment each other across a range of theme, tone, and appeal: comedy, drama, familiar favorites, newer works, family shows, and shows for adults. We also want to include a range of directors: Sherman Players veterans, those working at the Sherman Playhouse for the first time, and artists taking their very first shot at directing. The only requirements are vision, passion, dedication, and a collaborative spirit!
