It is with extreme disappointment and frustration that we at the Ghent Playhouse have had to postpone the opening of our 49th season until our February 2024 production of ALL MY SONS. It will be followed by THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY and ending with CIRCLE, MIRROR, TRANSFORMATION. An abbreviated, but exciting season.
We have sent out many cries for volunteers front of theater, back of theater, and onstage. From what we read in the papers and on the web, we are not alone. The pandemic seems to have taken away people’s enthusiasm for volunteering and coming out to enjoy live theater. In addition to Actors, our volunteer needs are: Set and Lighting Operators {we will train}; Set Construction {building expertise}; Costume Design, Construction and Alteration {sewing expertise}; Assistant Directors; Stage Managers; IT Technical Support {computer expertise}.
In appreciation of those who have stuck with us, all current members will receive a three month extension of their membership. Advertisers will get the whole of our 50th season Playbill added on.
Our restoration project is in the works, we have selected a painter and will have a sparkling building for our 50th Anniversary Season 2024-2025.
