Taína Asili presents a work-in-progress performance of “Fever Pitch.” Through a groundbreaking immersive multimedia performance Asili weaves dance, song and projection together to create an experience that inspires the audience to action on climate change.
[ALBANY, NY] – Taína Asili, acclaimed singer, songwriter, and activist, is set to ignite The Linda WAMC’s Performing Arts Studio stage with her electrifying climate justice themed show, “Fever Pitch,” on Saturday January 27th, 2024 at 7PM.
Taína Asili is a renowned national touring singer and songwriter based in Albany, who was honored in 2017 by City of Albany’s Commission on Human Rights for her social justice and artistic contributions to the Albany community. Rooted in her two-decade artistic journey addressing climate change, “Fever Pitch”, a one-hour spectacle, invites audiences into the radical imagination, exploring sustainable coexistence with each other and the Earth.
Asili’s music, performed by talented musicians Gaetano Vaccaro (Albany, NY), JoBeth Umali (Boston, MA), and Gabby Canzeri (Troy, NY), harmonizes with choreography crafted by Gregory Theodore Marsh (Albany, NY), guiding the magical movements of dancers Hettie Barnhill (Rensselaer, NY) and Eliana Rowe (Albany, NY). Adding visual depth, the show weaves a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of projections brought to life by new media artist Joseph Amodei (Bethlehem, PA). The performance has invited local climate justice organizations to join Asili in a post-show conversation with the audience on how to become actively involved in our local community.
