On Saturday, March 9th Home Made Theater will hold an open house for both potential
and existing volunteers. The open house will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm at Home Made
Theater’s Wilton Mall headquarters, which is located in the wing nearest the Saratoga Hospital
offices.

Most of the work of producing live theater at Home Made Theater is done by
volunteers. New members of the team are always welcome and appreciated. Volunteers work
in almost every aspect of production and work side by side with theater professionals. No
experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn. Areas of volunteerism you can learn about
include “Front of House” (interacting directly with patrons in positions like ushering), “Behind
the Scenes” (backstage work such as running crew, lighting assistant, costumes assistant, props
assistant, scenic assistant, and stage management, to name a few), and “Administrative” (box
office, mailing assistant, and general office work).

At the open house you will have the opportunity to mix with members of the staff,
Board of Directors, and some of our veteran volunteers to learn more about the ins and outs of
volunteering at Home Made Theater. Potential new volunteers are encouraged to attend to
learn about one of the Saratoga area’s cultural resources, and existing volunteers can learn
about new and different ways that they can help make a difference.

It is Home Made Theater’s mission to foster a life-long passion for theater by producing
exceptional and entertaining experiences for the community, by the community.
