Set against the ultra violent, unstable times of New York City in 1993 It If Bleeds It Leads is the true story of my time coming of age chasing murder, mayhem and love behind the wheel of an auctioned off cop car full speed on the streets of the biggest media market in the world.

 Ride along, stand on the corners…come face to face with the cops, the firefighters, the perps, the victims and the denizens of the night that shaped my very personal journey into the American caste systems of money, race and privilege.

 New York filmmaker Joshua Zeman (Cropsey, Sons of Sam, The Loneliest Whale) describes If It Bleeds It Leads as “a love letter to a time in New York City described best described as the Wild West.”

 If It Bleeds It Leads was directed by accomplished playwright, actor and director Shae D’lyn. Though best know for four season on Dharma and Greg,  Shae has starred Boardwalk Empire, Tennessee Williams’  Tiger Tail and directed such legendary plays as The Seagull by Anton Chekhov  and Our Lady of 121st St by Stephen Alley Guirgis.

 Sean won the Best Storyteller Prize for If It Bleeds It Leads at the prestigious United Solo Festival in New York City Fall 2023, has performed at On the Fly Story Slam, Voices of the Hudson Valley at the Ancram Opera House and took a turn as Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Churchtown Dairy. He currently lives in Hudson New York.

After making his debut with 2001’s Parlor Tricks and Porch Favorites Gubler released a string of acclaimed recordings including collaborations with Debby Schwartz, Samara Lubelski as well as joining the group Garcia Peoples.

His new album Murmurs and Whispers was released in 2023.
