Twelfth Night, or What You Will
A comedy of mistaken identity, by William Shakespeare
Directed by Megan Stacey
Hubbard Hall is pleased to announce the cast of this summer’s touring Shakespeare troupe! Join us for FREE Shakespeare in the park at seven beautiful outdoor venues across Washington County and the Capital Region.
Wednesday, August 14 – Sunday, August 18
Join us for a magical summer bringing Shakespeare’s beloved comedy to life in the park!
As listed on Shakespeare.org, the story of Twelfth Night is as follows: “Viola thinks her brother is dead. He thinks that she is dead. Everyone thinks that she is her brother. Everyone thinks that her brother is her. Shenanigans ensue.” This classic story of mistaken identity and musical mayhem is the bard’s light-hearted exploration of gender, sexuality, and love- and how blurred those lines can get. Inspiring classic movies such as She’s the Man and musicals such as our Teen Theatre production of All Shook Up, the comedy of Twelfth Night is for everyone. And in the heat of summer, we are taking this story to the beach! After her shipwreck, see how Viola takes on a job at the luxurious “Windsor Waves Resort”, ready to start a new life- and maybe find some love along the way.
