What is DTE?
The Virginia and Harvey Kimmel Arts Education Fund’s 2024 Devised Theatre Ensemble is composed of local teens ages 13-19, who will create and perform an original comedic family-friendly musical to be performed for the public at Berkshire Community College. This program is a natural outgrowth of our current programming with KidsAct! And TeensAct! which focuses on devising new work. Professional theater artists will use techniques, including improvisation, character development, commedia dell’arte, physical theater, game playing and more to co-create a new musical with the teens that will entertain family audiences. The Devised Theatre ensemble is proud to give high school students a quality pre-professional experience in creating original work in an ensemble setting.
