Schenectady Civic Players (SCP) is excited to announce a call for Directors for our 2026-27 Season.
Directors who have previously produced works at SCP, as well as directors who are new to SCP, are encouraged to apply. We encourage the submission of plays, including those that provide opportunities for a diverse and inclusive cast and production team, representing a variety of backgrounds, races, ethnicities, ages, genders, and identities.
Directors should complete the application below and provide an artistic resume for review.
Directors may submit up to three (3) shows for consideration. All applications must be provided via email to: playselection@civicplayers.org. A scanned copy in PDF format of each show submitted must be included with your application. Alternatively, an accessible link to the play may be furnished.
If selected, Directors will be responsible for fully staffing their production teams. If you have preliminary staff members in mind, we have provided a place for you to note those individuals below. Please note, lacking this information will not disqualify anyone from consideration.
All production teams must follow SCP’s Policies and Procedures, including all COVID protocols. These protocols may require vaccines, masks, and other safety measures.
Directors will need to be mindful of budgetary constraints in the execution of their show. Budgets will be provided to production teams upon selection and must be adhered to.
Please note, directors may be asked to meet with the SCP Play Selection Committee as part of the review process.
