AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT for THERE IS HOPE
A stage play by Steve Grogan
I am absolutely blown away by the talent I got in response to my first audition announcement. However, I do still have a few roles to fill, so here we are with announcement #2!!!

This play is about all the possibilities that tomorrow can hold, as long as you maintain hope that things can get better. It’s about learning from your mistakes and becoming a better person. It’s about healing old wounds and making peace with those you may have hurt…and I need YOU to help me bring it to life!
This production will be at 344 2nd Street, Troy NY. When you see this place, you might think it is an unusual venue for a play, and that is why I want to do it there. We will be holding only one performance, BUT it will be unlike any experience you’ve ever had.
SUMMARY: Kevin Seward has been down since his last girlfriend Lucy Grossman broke up with him. His friend Erwin Gleason invites Kevin to a party he is throwing. After he has been there for a while, Erwin tells him Lucy has arrived, so Kevin decides to leave. From this point on, the play tells two stories: (1) He encounters other partygoers in the present, and (2) we see flashbacks of his time with Lucy. By the time he makes it to the first floor, the tension is so thick that the only way to cut it would be if he ran into her and faced his fear, but what could come of such an encounter?
AUDITION TIME: at 7:00pm. WHERE: Google Meet
AUDITION DATE: Over the next couple weeks, I will be available to meet on Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday. However, if you are available on a DIFFERENT night, I am willing to work with you.
CASTING NEEDS: I am in need of ONE MALE and ONE FEMALE. I will discuss the roles that are open when we do your audition.
LOCATION OF WORKSHOP AND REHEARSALS: There will be only ONE workshop, which will be done via Google Meet. Most rehearsals will be via Google Meet, although there will be some in person. (344 2nd is available for only two dress/tech rehearsals, but I have an alternate location lined up already.)
START TIME FOR THE WORKSHOP/REHEARSALS: 7:00 pm. DATES FOR WORKSHOP/REHEARSALS: I have a list of dates we could rehearse. We won’t have it EVERY day; I just wanted to send the largest number possible.
DRESS REHEARSALS: Friday, 3/28 at 6:00pm; Saturday, 3/29, 9:00am-9:00pm
PERFORMANCE: Sunday, March 30th, 1:00pm
AFTER THE SHOW: There will be refreshments once the performance concludes.
