***EMERGENCY Audition Announcement for THERE IS HOPE***

This play is about all the possibilities that tomorrow can hold, as long as you maintain hope that things can get better. It’s about learning from your mistakes and becoming a better person. It’s about healing old wounds and making peace with those you may have hurt…and I need YOU to help me bring it to life!
SUMMARY: Kevin Seward has been down since his last girlfriend Lucy Grossman broke up with him. His friend Erwin Gleason invites Kevin to a party he is throwing. After he has been there for a while, Erwin tells him Lucy has arrived, so Kevin decides to leave. From this point on, the play tells two stories: (1) He encounters other partygoers in the present, and (2) we see flashbacks of his time with Lucy. By the time he makes it to the first floor, the tension is so thick that the only way to cut it would be if he ran into her and faced his fear, but what could come of such an encounter?
LOCATION: 344 2nd Street, Troy NY
DRESS REHEARSALS: Friday, 3/28 at 6:00pm; Saturday, 3/29, 9:00am-9:00pm
PERFORMANCE DATE/TIME: Sunday, March 30th, 1:00pm
AUDITION DATE/TIME/LOCATION: We can set up a time together, and this will be done remotely via Google Meet.
ROLE TO BE FILLED: NARRATOR – We will need someone to read some of the stage directions because this venue cannot accommodate certain things the script calls for, such as lighting cues and certain set designs.
IDEAL CAST MEMBER: Female, mid-50s to mid-60s.
NOTE: Although a Narrator is really a genderless character (after all, there wouldn’t even BE a Narrator for a traditional production), there is a certain reason why I am looking for a female of this age, which I can explain to any who want to know.
REHEARSAL INFO: Most will be done via Google Meet, although there will be a few in person as the performance date gets closer. The venue itself is available only for the two rehearsals listed above, so I will work on securing an alternate location.
RUN TIME: 7:00pm-9:00pm.
