BENNINGTON — The Board of Directors of Bennington Theater has appointed Kaiya Kirk as its new executive director, effective immediately. Kirk has been serving as interim director since January 2025, following the departure of Kevin Carlon.

Carlon played a key role in expanding the theater’s programming to include a diverse range of performing arts. Under his leadership, the theater hosted more than 120 events in 2024, featuring theater, music, dance, comedy, magic, film, new works, game nights, musicals, and children’s programming.

Kirk previously served as the theater’s production manager during Carlon’s tenure. She is a graduate of Bennington College, where she studied theater, and was recognized as Woman of the Year by the Southwest Chamber of Commerce in 2022.

“The Board is thrilled to welcome Kaiya into this role,” the Board of Directors said in a statement. “Her experience, dedication, and deep understanding of the theater’s mission make her the ideal leader for this next chapter.”
