The odyssey of a mystical Torah and the people who loved and protected it. Jacob’s Torah recounts the rescue of a Torah scroll the night before Kristallnacht, its journey to the U.S. and its dedication 50 years later for the use of students at a Hebrew day school. The play was inspired by a family story of Berkshire County resident (and OLLI instructor) Phil Halpern.
The reading will be followed by a short epilogue and refreshments.
