LENOX, MA (APRIL 16, 2025) — WAM Theatre is proud to partner with Berkshire Yoga Dance & Fitness (Pittsfield, MA) to offer Flow & Restore: Mother’s Month Yoga Class for Caregivers on Thursday, May 8 at 10:30 AM in connection with Cry it Out, WAM Theatre’s first reading in their 2025 Fresh Takes New Play Reading Series. Participation can be in-person or online.

This Flow & Restore yoga class is for anyone who spends their days caring for others—mothers, caregivers, health care providers, and those who give their time and energy generously. Tamara Hickey, a trauma-sensitive yoga instructor based in the Berkshires, will lead this class in the beautiful studio of Berkshire Yoga Dance & Fitness (Pittsfield, MA)

Hickey exclaimed, “I’m thrilled to collaborate with WAM Theatre in this way and help connect these two organizations doing impactful work in Berkshire County.”

Inspired by the themes in WAM’s upcoming Fresh Takes play reading Cry It Out, this event gives space for those who care for others to rebalance their bodies and minds through movement and story-telling. We’ll slowly and mindfully move to release tension, reconnect with breath, and create space for reflection. The practice will wind down with a few restful restorative poses to soothe the nervous system and replenish your inner reserves. To close, Tamara and Genée Coreno, Artistic Director of WAM Theatre, will guide a story circle—a gentle space to share, listen, and find connection in the rhythms of caregiving, offering a moment to refill our inner well before stepping back into daily life.

Coreno added about the significance of the event, “At WAM, theatre is a creative practice—one that takes root through daily nourishment, reflection, and care. It’s not just something we make, it’s something we live. This season, we’re excited to deepen the connection between creativity and wellness. Our partnership with Berkshire Yoga Dance & Fitness, and offerings like the Flow & Restore yoga class invite caregivers and community members to engage in both storytelling and embodied practice.  For us, theatre is—and has always been—a space for healing, transformation, and connection.”

Participation can be in-person or online. Class onsite is wheelchair accessible. No yoga experience needed. Just come as you are.
