West Springfield, MA (5/8/25) – Danny Eaton, producing director at the Majestic Theater in West Springfield, has announced the summer lineup of music, drama, improv comedy, children’s theater and theater education programs.
Actor/playwright Jay Sefton brings his award-winning play Unreconciled to the Majestic on Thursday, June 26 (2pm & 7:30pm) and Friday (7:30pm). The moving one-man-show, based on a true story, follows an adolescent actor cast as Jesus in a Catholic school play directed by a parish priest. Tickets are $28 & $30 and are available online at https://majestictheater.csstix.com/events.php?eventType=10 PLEASE NOTE: The play contains adult language and themes that support survivors of childhood sexual abuse. There will be talk-back discussions following each show.
The Majestic Youth Theater Workshop will conduct the following program sessions this summer:
Theater as Play – July 21-25 – $180
Location: Baldwin Street Studio at 168 Baldwin Street, West Springfield
For ages 7-10 years old
A week of theater games, improvisation and scene work incorporating favorite fairy tales. Topics explored include voice, movement, scene study through fun and age-appropriate exercises and games. Available in morning (9am-12pm) or afternoon (1-4pm) workshops to be held at Baldwin Street Studios at 168 Baldwin Street in West Springfield. Limit 20 participants per workshop.
Summer on Stage – July 28 – August 9 – $420
Location: Majestic Theater and Baldwin Street Studio at 168 Baldwin Street, West Springfield
For ages 11-15 years old
In this 2-week theater education program, everyone gets a part and play rehearses and performs in just two weeks. Workshop teachers performers how to communicate effectively onstage utilizing theater games, improv, voice, movement work and more. Sessions are Monday-Friday, 10am-3pm. Limit 30 participants.
Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. and Pollyanna will be staged as part of the Majestic Children’s Theater Program July 7 – July 30. All tickets are $12 and may be purchased online by visiting https://majestictheater.csstix.com/events.php?eventType=10 or calling or visiting the box office.
In addition to the children’s theater shows, the Majestic will also present Improv with The Majesters, on July 23, 30 & August 20. All shows begin at 7:30, and tickets, which are $15, will be sold at the door only.
Most of the summer events will be music concerts (full listing below) featuring tunes made famous by, among others, The Beatles, The Eagles, Jackson Browne, Johnny Cash, Simon & Garfunkel, Stevie Nicks, Elvis Presley and more. Local favorite Madison Curbelo, who finished in The Top 9 of Season 25 of The Voice, also returns to the Majestic with her band on August 13 at 7:30pm
