Sharon, CT — The Sharon Playhouse is excited to announce Meghan Flanagan as its new Managing Director, starting on May 21st. Meghan brings extensive experience in operations, strategic planning, and community leadership to the Playhouse. She joins Carl Andress, Artistic Director, and Michael Kevin Baldwin, Education and Community Director, on the leadership team. Her appointment follows the dedicated service of Rod Christensen, who moved on after 2.5 years in the position. Rod’s commitment to the Playhouse was invaluable, and he will be greatly missed by the staff and the community. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Meghan’s leadership and operational expertise will be key as she steps into her new role. Previously, Meghan served as Chief Operations Officer at the National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP) and as Revenue Operations Manager at Red Oak Compliance Solutions, among other notable roles. Her work in streamlining operations, optimizing cross-functional teams, and driving audience engagement will serve her well at the Playhouse.

Meghan, a former board member and Treasurer of the Sharon Playhouse, is no stranger to the community. She has a strong commitment to local impact, having co-chaired the Sharon Connect Task Force, which brought high-speed internet access to over 250 rural homes in Connecticut. Meghan also serves on the board of the Hotchkiss Library of Sharon and is a former board member of The Equus Effect.

“I’m thrilled to join the Sharon Playhouse in this new role and to help lead such an important cultural institution in our community,” said Flanagan. “I look forward to collaborating with the team and supporting our mission to provide engaging, high-quality performances while continuing to strengthen the relationship between the Playhouse and our audiences.”

In addition to this exciting leadership announcement, the Sharon Playhouse is gearing up for its Annual Spotlight Gala, taking place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, a marquee event of the Playhouse’s season. This year’s Gala will honor Emily Soell, Board President, for her remarkable contributions to the Playhouse and the community. The Gala will feature a spectacular cocktail party with live music from Ram Miles and Joe Finn, a thrilling performance on the Olsen Stage, and an after-party. Tickets for the Gala are available now, and with a variety of ticket options for the cocktail party, show, and after-party, it’s an event you won’t want to miss. https://www.sharonplayhouse.org/spotlight-gala

Special guests for the evening include music and Playhouse legend, Wanda Houston, who will perform, along with Avery Hope, who will play Annie in the Playhouse’s upcoming production of Annie, and Landry Champlin, recently featured on American Idol and returning as Lily St. Regis in Annie. The Gala will also feature talented local singers and dancers, including Will Nash Broyles, Tricia DeSario, Michelle Lemon, Michael Siktberg, Sasha Spitz, and Jonathan Zalaski. Krystyna Resavy directs and choreographs the event and Eric Thomas Johnson serves as music director.
